Warner University Named a Champions of Character Institution


KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The list of 2014-15 Champions of Character Five-Star Institution was released by the NAIA national office recently and Warner University was one of 170 schools around the country named on the list.

"I am so pleased in the way our team of coaches and student-athletes embrace serving others," said Athletic Director Kevin Jones.

Every institution and conference has their progress in pursuing character education tracked and recognized annually for achievements in training, promotion and conduct in competition.  The Champions of Character Scorecard measures commitment in five key areas and has a possible 100 points.  There are three levels that are awarded: Gold (90-100 points), Silver (75-89) and Bronze levels (60-74).

"On the fields and courts our student-athletes carry themselves in a manor worthy of this recognition," Jones added.  "The NAIA Champions of Character initiative is an outstanding program and we take pride in the title Champions of Character."

The Royals totaled 73 points on their scorecard earning the Bronze level designation.  The Sun Conference was well represented on the list with 10 of the league's 11 schools earning Five-Star Institution status making the league a Champions of Character Five-Star Conference as well.
