Men's Soccer Loses Late To Webber

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Royals men's soccer team came in to Tuesday night fired up to beat rival Webber International Warriors in their final match of the season. The first half of play was very even throughout as Warner got off four shots and Webber had three. Defense played a big role in the first half for both teams. At halftime the score was locked at 0-0. In the second half, the Warriors took advantage of a Royals mistake in front of their goal and was able to break the tie in the 52nd minute to go ahead 1-0. Not ot be outdone, the Royals came right back and Brian Martin found the back of the net as he caught a rebound off the crossbar and scored in the 61st minute. The score remained that way and the match looked to be heading into overtime, but Webber found some open space in front of the goal in the 87th minute and scored what would end up being the game winner. The Royals fought but were unable to get a quality shot on goal in the final 3 minutes to try and tie the match back up and fell to the Warriors 2-1. The Royals woulf end their 2016 season with a 1-16 (1-8) overall record.
