Box Score 2 WEST POINT, Ga.- The Warner men's soccer team went to the campus of Point University for two matches to open up their season. On Friday night they played Trinity Christian in the night game. The Royals got on the scoreboard first as
Priit Peedo found the back of the net on an assist from
John Pacheco. Things were looking good for the Royals for a bit, but just 10 minutes later Trinity Christian scored to tie the match at one. The match would stay that way until the 61st minutes when Trinity Chrisitan scored again to take a 2-1 lead for good. The Royals defense played well only allowing six shots and the offense had a good attack with 15 shots, 8 on goal, but they fell 2-1 to start the season.
Saturday was a familiar site for Warner fans as they scored first once again.
Renaldo Brown put one past the keeper in the 23rd minute to put the Royals up 1-0. The score would stay that way through halftime and into the second half when Point would tie the contest at one with a goal in the 73rd minute. With little time remaining, Point would put the Royals away with another goal in the 86th minute to go up 2-1. The Royals would once again seemingly dominate the match with more shots than their opponent, however, Point would walk away with the 2-1 victory.
The men's soccer team will next travel to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern College on September 1 at 7 p.m.
