Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Warner men's soccer team played host to Faulkner University Friday night. In the first half the teams seemed to play pretty even soccer as both sides had chances to score but failed to do so in the first 45 minutes. Both goal keepers played well as they were able to save some good looks at goal and keep the opposing side off the scoreboard early.
In the second half, however, it was the visitors that were able to break through and put shots away for goals. Faulkner led off the scoring with a goal in the 58th minute of play then added on an insurance goal in the 78th minute to take a 2-0 lead. The Royals had an attack very late in the match with two shots on goal in the 84th and 85th minutes of play, but the Faulkner goalie was able to save them both and hold on to the 2-0 shutout victory.
The men's soccer team fell to 0-7 on the season after the Friday night loss. They will be back in action on wednesday September 21 at Keiser to open up Sun Conference play. Game time is set for 12 pm.
