LAKE WALES, Florida. –
I'munique Green rebounded for 14 times adding 6 assists and 10 points for a double-double. A strong 2
nd half gave the Royals the Victory.
GAME RECAP
A shaky start had the Royals trailing 13-2 with just 3 minutes left in the 1
st quarter.
I'munique Green jumpstarted the Warner offense as her shot fell in with the assist from Sarah Poehlman. This started a late 6 point rally as the end of the 1
st quarter was in favor of the Fighting Bees 18-8.
In the first 5 minutes of the 2
nd quarter the Fighting Bees extended their lead to 24-10. A late charge by the Royals
I'munique Green,
Alana St. Clair,
Daijah Turner and
Charisa Broadway led to 11 unanswered points cutting the lead 24-21 to head into halftime.
The start of the 2
nd half lead to another takeoff by the Fighting Bees as they extended to another 10 point lead 37-27.
Daijah Turner found the hot hand towards the end of the 3
rd quarter and hit 2-3 point shots back to back draining the momentum and giving back to the Royals as they now just trailed by 4, 37-33.
Quickly in the 4
th quarter
Daijah Turner nailed a jumper to give the Royals the lead 38-37. After the Fighting Bees tied the score at 38-38 with a free-throw, the Royals went on a scoring spree not only taking the lead but extending to 49-45 with just 00:35 remaining in the game. Ambrose tried a late foul strategy but that failed as the Royals knocked down their free-throws and took the game by a 53-45 final score.
Cierra Wilson was on fire as she knocked down 15 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
Daijah Turner finished out with every shot counting as she hit some very key buckets to finish with 11 points.
I'munique Green had another stellar performance as she finished the night with a double-double having 10 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists.
Warner improves to 6-7 on the year and look for their next game at home December 29
th against Montreat College at 4:00 P.M. in the TAC.
