MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Royals fall just short of huge Sun Conference upset.
Kashari James posts double-double, 12 pts and 11 rebounds while
I'munique Green scores 17 pts.
GAME RECAP
With the game tied 6-6 and 5 minutes left in the 1
st quarter,
I'munique Green drained a 3-pointer that kicked off a 9-3 run in favor of the Royals. Warner led 15-11 at the end of the 1
st quarter.
6 Royals registered points in the 2
nd quarter as they extended to its biggest lead thus far at 9 pts.
Cierra Wilson knocked down a jumper to cap off a Royals 33-27 lead at halftime.
The Royals continued the hot hand to start the second half as
Sara Poehlman hit nothing but net and gave the Royals their biggest lead of the game at 16.
Kashari James knocked down the layup to end the 3
rd quarter with Warner leading 53-39.
With the upset in sight, it was the Bobcats that came out fired up. St. Thomas outscored the Royals 28-10 in the 4
th to steal the game away.
The Royals drop to 1-6 in the Sun Conference and St. Thomas remains at an unbeaten 7-0. Warner travels to Johnson & Wales University in North Miami this coming Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to continue the Sun Conference play.
