LAKE WALES, Fla. – This evening our Lady Royals welcomed the NAIA #5 Southeastern Fire to the TAC for what is both teams 10
th conference game. After 4 quarters of quick paced basketball the Fire came away victorious 95-46.
Southeastern jumped out to an early 9-0 lead before the Royals scored their 1
st basket but the Lady Royals were able to minimize the damage in the 1
st quarter and only trailed by 6 after the 1
st quarter came to an end.
Valeria Merlos (9) and
Daijah Turner (7) lead the way scoring for the Lady Royals. Merlos was 3-10 from the field in the 1
st half with 3 3-pointers made. Turner was 3-6 from the field with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
The first half ended with the Fire ahead 43-28.
The Fire started off the 2
nd half hot from beyond the arc and quickly extended their 15 point lead to a 24 point lead.
The Fire continued to dominate the 2
nd half, outscoring the Lady Royals 52-18 in the half.
Daijah Turner and
Alana St. Clair both put up double-digit points for Warner, each player scored 12 points.
With the loss the Lady Royals records drops to 6-15; the teams next game will be this weekend 1/19 at Ave Maria at 2:00 PM.
