Warner Men’s Soccer – Royals Stay Atop Sun Conference With Convincing Win Over Lions

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Pinned between a couple NAIA Top 25 teams, the Royals remain undefeated in The Sun Conference. The top three in the conference are No. 13 Southeastern 3-0, Warner University 2-0, No. 14 St. Thomas (fla.) 1-1. 

As a defender, Jake Baker broke through and netted his 1st goal of the season just fifteen minutes into the game with the assist from Daniel Rodriguez
One minute later, Daniel Rodriguez capitalized on an unassisted goal for his 6th of the season and his earlier assist keeps him tied with a team high 3 assists on the season. 

Widler Monestime would net goals in the 24th & 27th minutes for his 4th & 5th goals of the season. Assists for both of those goals came from Aser Jeune and Deven Ingley.

For the first time this season the Royals offense broke out and controlled the ball on the Lions side of the field. Warner rifled 17 shots on the day with 8 on goal and 4 goals. 

Freshman, Adam Mineo earned a shutout for the Royals saving 4 shots off the Lions 9 total shots in the game. Mineo improves to 1-0 on the season. 

The Royals will face the toughest part of their schedule in the next two games traveling to NAIA No.14 St. Thomas then coming home to face NAIA No. 13 Southeastern.
