Warner Women’s Basketball – Royals Take Gyrenes Down To The Wire; St. Clair Posts Double-Double

AVE MARIA, Fla. – Warner battled the 10-3 Ave Maria Gyrenes for their fourth Sun-Conference game this season.

The two teams were tied 48-48 as they entered the fourth quarter and the Royals only trailed by 1 point with a minute left in the game, but the Gyrenes were able to force a late turnover after hitting a big 3-point shot and seal their win with free—throws.

Alana St. Clair came out with a monsterous performance, grabbing 13 rebounds and landing 7-14 shots ending with 18 points. St. Clair also stood out on the defensive side of the ball tallying 2 blocks and 3 steals.

Troi Grant followed suit with a strong performance of her own, going 5-12 from the field and finishing with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

Avery Fogel landed 4-10 three-pointers tonight and ended the game with 12 points.

D'Asia James did not see as many looks from the field as the team would have liked, finishing the game with only 6 total shots and 3 points and 5 rebounds.

The Royals continue to grow as a team under first year Head Coach Nikki Jessee and almost stole a big win on the road tonight vs. a tough TSC opponent.

Expect the Royals to be out for revenge when the Gyrenes come into the TAC on February 8th.
