Warner Women’s Tennis – Lady Royals Shutout Ave Maria For 2nd Win Of Season

AVE MARIA, Fla. – The Lady Royals won every set they played this past weekend, shutting out the Ave Maria Lady Gryrenes 9-0 for the their 2nd win of the year. With the win the Lady Royals are now 2-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
 
Doubles
Doubles #1 – Andrea Silva & Marla Mesa Montoya defeated Camila Branstner & Averie Harkey 8-4 to win the 1st match of the day for the Lady Royals.
 
Doubles #2 – Paula Ordonez & Annaleigh Collings shutout Kutina Carlos & Anna Mahoney 8-0 for the 2nd win for the Lady Royals.
 
Doubles #3 – Danieris Santiago & Savannah Hancock sealed a Lady Royals doubles sweep when they beat Lauren McCarthy & Amy Gateau 8-5.
 
Singles
Singles #1 – Andrea Silva won the 1st singles match for the Lady Royals, defeating Camila Branstner 6-0 & 6-2 in 2 sets.
 
Singles #2 – Paula Ordonez defeated Averie Harkey 6-2 in their 1st set and 6-3 in their 2nd set to win the 2nd singles match for the Lady Royals.
 
Singles #3 – Marla Mesa Montoya won the 1st set she played against Lauren McCarthy 6-1 and shutout McCarthy 6-0 in the 2nd set to win the singles match.
 
Singles #4 – Annaleigh Collings shutout Mary Moede 6-0 in both sets to bring the Lady Royals lead to 7-0 on the day.
 
Singles #5 – Danieris Santiago also shutout her opponent Anna Mahoney 6-0 in both of their sets in their match for the 8th Lady Royals win on the day.
 
Singles #6 – Savannah Hancock sealed the shutout victory for the Lady Royals when she defeated Kutina Carlos 6-0 in the 1st set and 6-1 in the 2nd set for the final win of the day.
 
Warner Women's Tennis had 8 total sets on the day where they shutout their opponent, in route to their 9-0 thrashing of Ave Maria.
 
This is the 1st time the men or women tennis teams for Warner have shut out an opponent all year. With the win the Lady Royals have built up some momentum as they get ready to host Crooked Lake Rival Webber International this Wednesday February 20th.
