Warner Women's Tennis - Lady Royals Take Win Over Missouri Baptist University and Compete in Spring Break Tournament

LAKE WALES – FLA. The Warner University Women's Tennis Team has been playing extremely well, with another win today over Missouri Baptist University with a score of 7-2.

Doubles

In the first doubles matchup, Andrea Silva and Marla Mesa Montoya (WU) defeated Dani Stevenson and Francielly da Silva (MBU) 8-2.

The second matchup saw Paula Ordonez and Annaleigh Collings (WU) defeated Maria Brandt and Hannah Chaney (MBU) 8-3.

In the final doubles match, Rafaela Davide and Emily Brown (MBU) defeated Danieris Santiago and Veronica Kamoi (WU) 8-6.
 
Singles

In the first singles match, Andrea Silva (WU) defeated Dani Stevenson (MBU) 6-1 and 6-0.

Second, Paula Ordonez (WU) defeated Maria Brandt (MBU) 6-1 and 6-3.

Third, Marla Mesa Montoya (WU) defeated Francielly da Silva (MBU) by identical scores of 6-0.

Fourth, Annaleigh Collings (WU) defeated Hannah Chaney (MBU) 6-0 and 6-1.

Fifth, Danieris Santiago (WU) defeated Rafaela Davide (MBU) 6-4 and 6-3.

In the final match, Veronica Kamoi (WU) was defeated by Emily Brown (MBU) 1-6 and 3-6.
 
Last week, both Men's and Women's Tennis Teams competed in Hilton Head, South Carolina for a Spring Break tournament. The Lady Royals brought home 2 wins and one loss. Their wins came against Edinboro University of Pennsylvania 7-2 and NCAA DII Wilkes University 6-1. The one loss came from NCAA DII West Liberty University 2-5.

Also over the last week, sophomore Andrea Silva received her first NCCAA student athlete of the week title for the 2019 season and has reached a 5 match win streak at the No. 1 singles position. The St. Petersburg, Florida native won 6-4, 6-4 in her singles match and 6-2 at No. 1 doubles against NCAA DII West Liberty University. Silva then won 6-2, 6-2 in singles and 8-7 (7-4) at No. 1 doubles against NCAA DII Wilkes University. Silva and Marla Mesa Montoya have won 3 of their last 4 No. 1 doubles matches.
