LAKE WALES, FLA.- The Royals opened up at home with a win and a great start to setting the tone of the season. This afternoon Warner University defeated Ave Maria University 1-0 putting the Royals at 1-2 overall on the season.

The excitement started towards the end of the game for the Royals when junior, Timothy Shaner scored his first goal of the season with just 14 minutes remaining in the game making this his 3^rd career goal. The assist was credited to Juan Gazzotti for his first of the season. The team continued to stay focused and apply the pressure throughout the rest of the game to get what they needed done. 

After the game Head Coach, Drew Stacey stated, "we needed this win today. Making some changes from the weekend worked out in our favor. Subs played a great role and knew exactly what to do from what we talked about and it payed off." 

The Royals worked hard together as they fought the Gyrenes down the stretch and came away with the win. Warner out shot Ave in the game with 11 total shots and 4 of them on goal. Angelo Neto held down the net for the Royals finishing with 6 saves and recording a shutout. 

September 2^nd, the Royals play host to Montreat College at 3:30 p.m.
