WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – For the first time in Warner Men's Tennis history, the Royals are bringing back an ITA Singles Championship Title.
Bruno Botelho Pessoa advanced through the ranks as the first ever Royal to make it to an ITA Regional Final, he then took it a step further and won the title.
Pessoa entered the Championship tournament as the #2 favorite. He went 5-0 through the tournament taking down some heavy hitters.
Match 1: Pessoa received a bye into round two.
Match 2: Pessoa defeated Khanya Ramokgopa of Coastal Georgia (6-2, 6-3)
Match 3: Pessoa defeated Alexander D'Aboville of Southeastern (6-1, 6-1)
Match 4: Pessoa defeated Juan Marrero of Keiser (6-2, ret)
Semifinals: Pessoa defeated Gerard Rodriguez of Keiser (6-1, 7-5) to advance to the Finals.
FINAL: Pessoa defeated Julian Turosienski of Keiser (7-5, 6-1) for the ITA Florida Regional Championship.
Keiser Men's Tennis as a team is ranked No. 7 in the NAIA and Pessoa defeated back-to-back-to-back Seahawks to achieve the championship title.
