HIALEAH, Fla. – The Royals and Conquistadors matched up for just the second time in the two school's history and it was Florida National that came out on top 4-0.
Warner and Florida National had only met once previous in Men's Tennis in the spring of 2019 and it was the Conquistadors that came away with a 8-1 victory. Earlier today the Royals fell again in a 0-4 shutout.
SINGLES
#1:
Bruno Pessoa had a lead over Rodriguez winning the first set 6-4, they were marked unfinished at the start of their second set. Pessoa remains 2-0 on the season in singles play.
#2:
Vitor Wagner was another unfinished matchup against Villanueva. Villanueva had a lead 6-4, and 3-1 over Wagner when it was marked unfinished. Wagner remains 1-1 on the season in singles play.
#3:
Filipe Gil fell to Particelli (3-6, 0-6) moving Gil to 0-3 on the season in singles play.
#4:
Julian Cuartas fell to Rebaud (0-6, 3-6) moving Cuartas to 0-3 on the season in singles play.
#5:
Bruno Carvalho was marked unfinished against Grignon with Grignon in the lead (6-4, 1-2). Carvalho remains 1-1 on the season in singles play.
#6:
Henrique Dias fell to Balbin (0-6, 1-6) moving Dias to 0-3 on the season in singles play.
DOUBLES
#1:
Bruno Pessoa and
Filipe Gil fell for the first time this season as a pair taking them to 2-1. They were taken down by De La Selle and Rebaud by a final of 3-6.
#2:
Henrique Dias and
Jake Edwards competed together for the first time this season and fell to Lee and Villanueva 2-6.
#3:
Julian Cuartas and
Vitor Wagner picked up their first win as a pair improving to 1-2 on the season with a 6-2 final over Particelli and Grignon.
The Royals lost the doubles decision and once the match was out of reach elected to defer the remainder falling to the Conquistadors 0-4.
