Warner Tennis – Royals Battle Conquistadors In Narrow 3-4 Loss

HIALEAH, Fla. – The Royals and Conquistadors matched up for just the second time in the two school's history and it was Florida National that came out on top today 4-3.
 
Warner and Florida National had only met once previous in Women's Tennis in the spring of 2019 and it was the Royals that came away with a 7-2 victory. Earlier today the Royals fell 3-4 in a close matchup.
 
SINGLES
#1: Andrea Silva fell to 0-3 on the season after dropping to Bonivardi (1-6, 5-7).
#2: Marla Mesa Montoya took the first set over Pera 6-4, then feel in the next two with a close battle of (4-6, 4-6). Montoya drops to 0-3 in singles play.
#3: Christina Abeln fell in the first set 4-6, then battled back and took the second and third (6-4, 6-2) to improve to 2-1 on the season in singles play and also on a 2-game streak.
#4: Veronica Kamoi dropped to Guzman (3-6, 1-6) falling to 0-3 on the season.
#5: Savannah Hancock powered over Ardanal (6-0, 6-1) for her first victory on the season improving to 1-2.
#6: Irene Arias took a point by default and remains 0-0 on the season.
 
DOUBLES
 
#1: Christina Abeln and Andrea Silva narrowly fell 6-7 against Bonvardi and Pera moving their pair record to 1-2 on the season.
#2: Veronica Kamoi and Marla Mesa Montoya dropped to Gomez and Guzman 3-6 for their third loss of the season.
#3: Irene Arias and Savannah Hancock stood in with a default point but the Conquistadors took the point for doubles.
 
The Royals fall to 0-3 to start the year but have a little bit of time to refocus before starting the heart of conference play against Keiser on February 8th.
