LAKE WALES, Fla. - Warner took on Florida Memorial tonight in what was both teams' Sun Conference opener. The Royals made a final charge but were unable to close the gap.

Facing a 20 point deficit just before the end of the first half, the Royals were able to rally and at one point in the fourth quarter cut the lead to two 59-61. 74-68 was the final score with the Royals falling to the Lions.
Warner had three players register double digit points in the game. Isabella Lopez led the offense with 18 points and also snagged 8 boards with 2 steals. Shelby Gard followed closely with 15 points as she went 5-13 from three point range. Haley Gantt registered a double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and added 4 blocks. D'Asia James led the Royals defense with 15 total rebounds and 10 of them being defensive.
The Royals have dropped 10 straight games to the Lions dating back to 2017. They will get their chance again, this time in Miami on January 2nd to start out the new year.
