LAKE WALES, Fla. - D'Asia James notches 18 points as Royals fall shy of Gyrenes.
Warner fell to 1-16 in The Sun Conference and 6-18 overall with the loss to the Gyrenes. This marks the second time the Royals have fallen to the Gyrenes this season.
The Royals managed to outscore the Gyrenes in the fourth quarter and cut into the lead trailing only by just five, 42-47 with less than five minutes left in the game. The Gyrenes held off the charging Royals and took the victory with a final score of 52-42.
D'Asia James and Dianis Hurtado both registered double doubles in the game. James scored a team high 18 points and pulled down 12 boards while adding 2 blocks. Hurtado finished the game with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals. Haley Gantt was just one basket away from a double double as she pulled in 10 rebounds and put up 8 points with a massive 4 block performance.
The Royals are down to just three games remaining in regular season play. Next up Warner heads down to Keiser University.
