MOUNT VERNON, GA – Royals win a close game against Brewton Parker College improving their record to 2-0-2 on the season after beating the Barons 2-1.
There was nothing new for the Royals when they faced the Barons on the campus of Brewton Parker College. Their offense as usual so far this season is what helped the Royals attain their second win. The Royals had 15 total shots on the night, 8 of them being shots on goal. As we have seen so far early this season the Royals offense has been on an absolute tear, applying so much pressure to their opponent's defense.
The Royals came out on fire after the long trip all the way up to Georgia. In the 31
st minute of the game, the freshman from Tampa
Julian Rodriguez scored his first goal of his collegiate career. Then in the 43
rd minute of the game, the veteran
Dawson Johnson scored his second goal of the season to extend the Royals lead to 2-0 against the Barons. In the 52nd minute of the contest, Brewton Parker scored their only goal of the game. After that, the Royals defense took over to get surpass the Barons.
The Royals will play Florida College at home on Saturday, September 11, at 7:00 PM EST.
