Warner Women's Basketball - Royals Secure Second Conference Game of the Season


LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals secure second conference win of the season after defeating Thomas University 68-65.

The Royals faced Thomas University at home for the 23rd time in program history. After defeating the Nighthawks, the Royals have solidified their third win in a row for the season and are 5-3 the past 8 games they have played. 

The Royals got off to a rather fast start in the first quarter of the game and scored 15 points compared to the Nighthawks who only scored 5 points. At the end of the first half, the Royals led 25-16. By the fourth quarter of the game, the score was 48-35 in favor of the Royals. The Royals defense was strong enough to hold off the Nighthawks from making a late comeback in the fourth quarter of the game. Chanelle McDonald had an unbelievable game for the Royals. She led the Royals with 19 points on the night while she grabbed 10 rebounds. She was also 8-11 from the field. Jasmine Edwards once again helped the Royals to victory with a smooth 12 points and 9 rebounds. 

The Royals next game will be at the College of Coastal Georgia on Saturday, January 8, at 2:00 pm.
