LAKE WALES, Fl - Warner University's very own Track and Field Assistant Coach Taiwo Ariyo has been named as an Associate Head Coach for the Nigeria National Team ahead of the 2023 World Track & Field Championships.

On July 27th, 2023 Assistant Track and Field Coach Taiwo Ariyo, better known as Coach T around campus, was named Associate Head Coach of Team Nigeria. His role with the team will be to work with coaches and athletes in the short sprints, long springs, as well as relay events to prepare their athletes for the 2023 World Track & Field Championships in Budapest, Hungary on August 19th-27th. When asked what it meant to him to represent his native country of Nigeria, Coach T said " This is a huge honor to represent Team Nigeria! I want to thank God for preparing me for this amazing opportunity."
It will be a huge honor having such a great coach represent not only Nigeria but Warner University in one of the biggest stages in the world. Coach T also added,  " Having a vibrant Director of Track and Field and Cross Country (Coach Stamps), an extremely supportive Athletic Director (Chrissy Moskovits), and the most amazing senior support staff in NAIA Collegiate Athletics (Anne Thome, Steven Weathers and President Hoag). The support of the Warner University family gives me the opportunity and time to receive this invitation and for that I am eternally grateful."
In light of this tremendous opportunity Coach T has a message for his family at Warner where he recites a powerful bible scripture in Philippians 4:13, " My message to our program is we are stronger together and better together and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. We have great minds, an amazing staff and beyond the moon is our limit. A few weeks ago I was in Lake Wales, FL. Now I am in London, England on my way to Budapest, Hungary to coach at The World Championships."
Director of Track & Field/ Cross Country Hassaan Stamps has high praise for his coach as well as his program saying, " I am so proud of Coach T, this is a huge honor and accomplishment not only for him but for Warner University's Track and Field and Cross Country program. My aim when I came a year ago was to bring elite level caliber coaches to re-imagine what The Royals can and will be in time. We tell our young people all the time, If your dreams do not scare you they are not big enough! Well we have one of our very own on the largest stage, no need to pinch yourself you're not dreaming this is REAL!!!!
