RECAP: Royals Claim Home Opener Over Thomas University, 60-51

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University Women's Basketball team opened their home slate with an impressive 60–51 win over Thomas University on Wednesday night inside the Turner Athletic Center. The Royals showcased balance, resilience, and energy on both ends of the floor to secure their first victory of the season.

Lacienega Crockett led the charge for Warner with a team-high 14 points, shooting 5-of-11 from the field while adding 3-of-7 from the free throw line. Crockett also paced the offense with 3 assists, guiding the Royals' tempo in key stretches of the game.

Dominating the glass once again was Carissa Marthy, who pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds (7 offensive, 9 defensive), helping the Royals control second-chance opportunities throughout the night. Julia Gilbert added defensive spark with 2 steals, contributing to a strong team effort that limited the Night Hawks' scoring runs.

As a team, Warner shot 35.1% (20-57) from the floor and 41.7% (5-12) from beyond the arc, while connecting on 60% (15-25) from the free-throw line. The Royals' defensive intensity and rebounding dominance proved to be the difference, as Warner held Thomas to limited second-chance points and maintained composure down the stretch.

The victory marks a promising start to home play for the Royals as they continue to build rhythm early in the season.
