LAKE WALES, Fla. — December 2, 2025 — Warner Women's Basketball protected home court on Tuesday night, defeating the University of Fort Lauderdale 62-55 inside the Turner Athletic Center. The Royals delivered a strong defensive performance and leaned on a career night from sophomore guard/forward Bethany Howard to earn the seven-point victory.
Howard posted a new career high with 24 points, shooting 11-of-24 from the field, while adding 5 assists and a game-high 6 steals in a standout two-way performance that fueled the Royals on both ends of the floor.
In the paint, junior forward Carissa Marthy anchored the effort with 13 rebounds, leading Warner on the glass as the Royals collected 43 total rebounds as a team.
The Royals also saw steady playmaking from Aleyna Sherman, who matched Howard with 5 assists on the night.
As a team, Warner shot 27-72 (37.5%) from the field, 4-19 (21.1%) from three, and 4-13 (30.8%) from the free-throw line while using defensive pressure and second-chance opportunities to maintain control throughout the contest.
