LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University Athletics is proud to announce Cesar Unzueta as the new Head Coach of the Warner Royals Clay Target program. Unzueta brings with him a wealth of experience, a deep love for the outdoors, and a Christ-centered leadership approach that aligns with Warner's mission and values.

Coach Ryan Bruursema, who has led the program since its inception, will remain on staff in a new role as Assistant Coach, focusing on clay course development and the operation of the University's shooting facilities. He will continue to serve alongside returning Assistant Coach Doug Elmore.

"I am looking forward to working alongside Cesar on the Warner Clay Target team," said Bruursema. "As the program continues to grow, Cesar is the right person to take over day-to-day operations of the team. I will stay on as Assistant Coach with a focus on clay course development and operation of the facilities. It has been an honor to serve as Head Coach for three years, and I look forward to what God has in store for the program going forward."

Unzueta, a Lake Wales native and 24-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran, is passionate about both competitive shooting and mentoring student-athletes in faith and life.

"I am truly grateful to the Lord for providing me with the opportunity to join Warner University as the Head Coach of the Clay Target Team," said Unzueta. "Growing up in Lake Wales, I was fortunate to spend my youth in God's creation hunting, fishing, and camping with lifelong friends. My love for outdoor adventure led me to a 24-year career in the Marines serving our nation abroad in war and peace. I'm beyond excited to pour my life experiences into this program alongside a very talented coaching staff, as we strive for excellence and, more importantly, lead students into a life-changing relationship surrendered to Jesus Christ!"

Assistant Coach Doug Elmore also shared his excitement about the future of the program under Unzueta's leadership.
