Lake Wales, Fla. – Warner University freshman Amirah Johnson has been honored as the SUN Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, following a remarkable collegiate debut at the 2025 Swan City Cross Country Classic hosted by Southeastern University.

Competing in her first meet of both the 2025 season and her collegiate career, Johnson wasted no time making an impact. Against a field of over 100 competitors across the NAIA and NCAA in the women's 4K, she secured a 9th-place overall finish with a time of 14:40, leading the Royals and setting the tone for the season ahead.

"Amirah has already shown tremendous poise and determination in her first race at the collegiate level," said Sean Hanrahan, Warner University's Athletic Director. "To finish inside the top 10 in such a competitive field speaks volumes about her talent and work ethic. Congratulations to Amirah, Coach Chelsi, and the Royals Cross Country program on this accomplishment."

The Royals will return to action on September 12th at the Bobcat Invitational hosted by St. Thomas University.
