LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals continue their SUN Conference campaign this week heading to the road to take on
(RV) Southeastern University on
Wednesday, January 14th at
5:30pm and then return home to face off with
New College of Florida on
Saturday, January 17th at
2:00pm to round out the week.
Warner comes into the week looking to reset and build on their strong defensive performances last week first against Ave Maria University on the road, where AMU took the win 58-45, and then at home against St. Thomas University, where the Royals fell 65-59.
(RV) Southeastern enters the matchup coming off a 86-28 win over New College of Florida and currently have an overall record of 15-3 and a 5-1 record in the SUN Conference. The Royals defense this season has been consistently strong, allowing an average of only 60.1 Points per Game and the Fire currently have a record of 2-3 when scoring less than 70 points in a game. Warner will look to their defense to slow down the Fire in what will be a strength vs. strength matchup between the two programs.
New College of Florida enters the week with a 7-7 overall record and 0-5 record against SUN Conference opponents. With both programs seeking their 1st SUN Conference win of the season and both teams sporting similar numbers statistically, this game is sure to be a tightly-contested matchup from start to finish.
The Royals will look to use this week against SUN Conference opponents to build upon their strong defensive efforts and propel themselves forward for the final 2 months of the season.
