LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Royals sent their Seniors out on a high note as they beat Webber International University on Saturday by a final score of 54-47 and the led from start to finish to sweep the season series with their Crooked Lake rivals.
Warner's defense had a stellar start to the game on Saturday in front of a packed Turner Athletic Center for Senior Day. The Royals prevented the Warriors from scoring for the first 5 and a half minutes of the game, taking an early 9-0 lead before Webber was able to getting their first basket. Warner went on to hold Webber to only 8 points in the 1st quarter and would go into the half with a 27-20 lead. The 2nd half was a battle as Webber fought to cut into Warner's lead, but the Royals defense came up clutch to hold the Warriors offense to only 9 points in the final period taking a 54-to-47 win to end the season.
The Royals saw 3 of their starters score double-digits on Saturday with
Aleyna Sherman leading the way with 13 points. Sherman tied her season best with 3 made 3-pointers, going 3-6 from beyond the 3-point arc and shot 4-12 overall.
Chanelle Harrison ended her season in a big way recording her 3rd double-double of the year scoring 10 points and securing a game-high 11 rebounds against the Warriors.
