MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Warner Men's Soccer team wrapped up their two game road trip on Saturday when they faced off with Huntingdon College for the first time in the program's history. The Royals earned their third draw on the road against the Hawks in a defensive battle that ended 0-0.
Despite both teams ending the match scoreless, the Royals created the majority of the offense on Saturday night recording 10 total shots, with 4 on goal, to the Hawks 5 shots, 2 on goal. Warner's
Jackson Davenport recorded half of the Royals with 5 total shots and 2 shots on goal. Xavier Lozado recorded the Royals 2 other shots on goal, while
Christopher Zeppieri,
Euan Bunn and
Wade Bishop each recorded a shot of their own in the draw.Â
The Royals defense shined on Saturday night anchored by Senior Goalkeeper
Mikey Melvin. Melvin recorded 2 crucial saves on Saturday to earn his 1st shutout of the 2026 season. Warner also saw standout performances on the defensive end of the field with
Noah Farrington,
Greg Jackson II, and
Mauricio Delgado going the distance and playing all 90 minutes to help secure the 1st shutout of the season for the Royals.
Georg Manolov was also a pivotal part of the Royals defense on Saturday recording 71 minutes on the pitch.
Warner will look to build upon their defensive performance when they take on Florida College next week in their final non-conference game of the season.Â
