DJ Marlow begins his first season as an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball Program, and Head Coach of the JV Women’s Basketball team.
Coach Marlow primarily works with the guards in practice, and oversees their development. In order to make practices more competitive, he is a member of the scout team and jumps in drills when needed. He also helps the program push two of its biggest areas of focus – fundamentals and skill development.
Off the court, Marlow has a large role in recruiting, and assisting in locating and developing future talent for the program. Furthermore, he is in charge of organizing and ordering team gear needs, and is in charge of summer camps.
He has spent the last 2 seasons guiding Tenoroc High School Girls’ Basketball as their Head Coach. After taking over a 2-23 team, he successfully guided them to an 11-win season in only his first year as the head coach. He led the program to their first winning season in over 9 years, and had the most improved team in the district for two years in a row. For his efforts, he was named the FACA 4A Coach of the Year.
Marlow has extensive experience developing players through serving as lead instructor and coach for Agape Hoops in Missouri, as well as coaching several AAU teams over the years.
Marlow began his collegiate playing career at NJCAA DI Little Big Horn College in Montana where he averaged 18.5 points per game, as well as 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals. He led the league in points and steals, and was second in the nation in steals.
He also played and started at Misericordia University, where he had game highs of 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Later, Marlow was a walk-on at Delaware State University.
In high school, he played basketball at Kathleen and Lakeland High School where he averaged 11 points, and was the team’s leading rebounder. He was chosen to be on the Polk County All-Star team as well.
DJ is a Florida native, and has 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
