Emperatriz Gonzalez-Henao

Emperatriz Gonzalez begins her second season as men’s and women’s cross country and track and field head coach at Warner.  Previously, Coach Gonzalez was an assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs before taking over as head coach.

While at Warner, Coach Gonzalez has coached two Track & Field NAIA National Champions (2003 & 2004), a National Champion runner-up, a sixth place National finalist and five NAIA All-Americans, along with multiple all-conference and all-regional honorees and National Qualifiers.

Before coming to Warner, Gonzalez turned in a stint in coaching at NCAA Division I University of Nebraska where she coached two National Champions.

The Medellin, Colombia native has extensive international and Olympic coaching experience as she has coached members of the Colombian Olympic Track & Field team to a fifth place World Ranking in the 400m, Bronze medal in the 1992 Summer Olympics, and to a 1992 third place world ranking.  In 1992 she was named Colombia’s Coach of the Year and was named the 1991-92 Antioquia State Coach of the Year.
