Jeremy Wortinger

Jeremy Wortinger begins his first season as an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball Program.  He brings over 10 years coaching experience to the Royals.

Coach W, as he is affectionately called, serves as the Recruiting Coordinator. He is responsible for all scheduling related duties including game scheduling, official visits, practice, along with player development both in and out of season.  Wortinger is also responsible for the hiring and training of student managers, and male practice players.  He handles all scouting reports and video editing of opponents.  Lastly, he oversees the team’s academic performance. 

Wortinger primarily works with the guards in practice and plays an instrumental role in player development. On top of that, he also helps coordinate and plan alumni weekend events for the program while assisting in running and coordinating camps.  
Most recently, Wortinger guided Avon Park High School to a .82 winning percentage over 3 years (2019-2022), where he led them to 21-5, 16-5, and 22-3 records. They won 3 straight District Championship titles, and advanced in postseason play all 3 years.  He also solidified three straight Coach of the Year awards out of the Heartland area, as well.    

Wortinger was born in Syracuse, Indiana before he moved to Florida at the age of 4, where he’s been a Florida resident for 46 years. He has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 21 years.  They have two children, Zoe and Jeremiah “JJ.”
