Karina Ono

Fall 2020 is the second year of Karina Ono as a graduate assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s Royals. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration degree. Karina seeks to follow career in collegiate coaching as she keeps learning and improving her skills alongside to coach Jose Martinez. 

Karina is a former DI player, graduated with a Business Management bachelors degree from Jackson State University,  Mississippi. After transferring from Barton Community College, Kansas. BCC (Cougars) served as her first home here in the USA. Coming from a simple family, college Tennis have never been an option until she received a scholarship offer to play college tennis. Tennis for her has always opened many doors and she emphasizes the gratitude of having her family’s support to be where she is today.

Before joining the Royals last year, Karina spent a year in China serving as a Head Tennis Pro for a sports management company where she worked with kids age from 4-15 years old. She was responsible to create lessons plan, organize events, and introduce tennis in schools as part of their after school program. Returning to the USA in January 2019 with the objective to follow her career dream, she volunteered for ASA College- Miami for the Women’s Tennis winning the NJCAA National Championship working with coach Brian Slack. 

Karina is very thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Warner Athletics as she keeps working hard towards her personal and professional goals.
