Burks joined the Warner University Athletic Department in August 2024 as the Director of Athletic Communications. In her role, Burks leads all internal and external communications efforts for Warner Athletics, overseeing media relations, digital content, and strategic storytelling for the Royals’ 20 varsity programs.
She is responsible for maintaining the official Warner Athletics website and social media platforms, providing timely game coverage, feature stories, video highlights, and engaging visual content. Burks also coordinates all in-game broadcasts and has served as a play-by-play voice for several sports. Additionally, she directs the production of game programs, media guides, and promotional materials, while managing the athletic photography schedule and ensuring accurate and organized records for each program.
Burks supervises a team of graduate assistants and student workers, providing leadership in event coverage and game operations. She also serves on the Warner Athletics Leadership Team and acts as a liaison between the department and media outlets, the Sun Conference, and the NAIA.
Prior to Warner, Burks served three years as the Women’s Basketball Creative Services Graduate Assistant at Georgia State University, where she completed her Master’s degree in May 2024.
A proud alumna of Charleston Southern University, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2021. During her time at CSU, she was a four-year member of the Buccaneers Cheerleading team, earning recognition as the 2017 Big South Conference Cheerleader of the Year and serving as team captain from 2019 to 2021.
A native of LaGrange, Georgia, Burks is the daughter of Dialleo and Patricia Burks Sr. and sister to D.J., Payton, and Kameron.
