PHILIPPI, W. Va. - Playing their second NCAA team in a row, the Warner University football team lost on the road to Alderson-Broaddus University 45-21 on Saturday afternoon. In damp, cold conditions, the Royals trailed 31-14 at halftime and could not overcome it falling to 4-3 on the season. The NCAA-II Battlers improve to 5-2 with the win.
Keelyan Bryant scored Warner's first touchdown on their second possession of the first quarter. Bryant scored on a 14-yard run to cap off a six play, 70 yard drive. The touchdown tied the game at 7-7 after the Battlers scored on their first possession.
The Battlers scored two more times in the first quarter and led 17-7 after the first 15 minutes. A Royals' miscue on fourth down set up the Battlers' second touchdown.
Leslie Young scored the Royals' second touchdown of the game on their first possession of the second quarter. Young's one yard run ended a 10-play, 70 yard drive for the Warner offense.
The Royals had no answer for the Battlers on defense as the home team scored on their first two possessions of the second quarter.
Coming out of halftime, the Royals' offense sputtered churning out 38 yards on 13 plays through three drives.
The Battlers scored their fifth touchdown to start the third quarter and led 38-14 after 45 minutes of play.

Traige McClary for an 83-yard touchdown pass that ended the scoring for both teams.
By the numbers:
- The Royals totaled 331 yards of offense, their second highest total of the season.
- Loronza Smith led the Royals' defense with eight total tackles and one pass break up.
- Don Wise, Jr. and Greg Hawthorne shared Warner's lone sack in the game. Wise, Jr. finished with six tackles including 1.5 for a loss.
- Terrance Belle recovered a fumble for the Royals' defense and had one tackle.
- Darrin Davis, Jr. rushed a team-high 12 times for 43 yards.
- Traige McClary caught two passes for 103 yards. His 83-yard touchdown catch was the second longest of the season for the Royals.
