Lady Royals Roll to Fourth Straight Conference Win

LAKE WALES, Fla. - Warner University women's volleyball team rolled to their fourth straight Sun Conference win on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-12) sweep of Northwood University.  The win moves the Lady Royals' record to 7-2 in league play and 8-9 overall.  In their two conference matches this week the Lady Royals did not lose a set winning both by a 3-0 score.  The Seahawks drop to 10-12 on the year and 4-6 in league play.

The first set proved to be the most competitive as the Seahawks battled the Lady Royals to six tie scores and two lead changes.  Adrienne Czaplewski started her big day with four kills in the first set and a .375 hitting percentage.

After a back and forth start to the second set, the Lady Royals broke the game open with a 16-3 run and never looked back.  Czaplewski tallied eight kills in the set and led a Lady Royals' offense that combined for a .344 hitting percentage.

The Lady Royals' dominance continued in the third set as they posted a .314 hitting percentage as a team and trailed only briefly at the beginning of the set.  Marisa Moralobo had four kills in the set while Nicole Wittmer and Tiffani Pate added three apiece.

Czaplewski was impressive in the match totaling 13 kills and a .429 hitting percentage.  She also had 12 digs and one service ace.  Moralobo followed up her 16-kill performance from Friday night with eight against the Seahawks.  She was second on the team with 14 digs.

Libero Heather Lockwood was perfect passing the ball in the match and had a game-high 15 digs.  Setter Rachel Stanton finished the match with 31 assists and three kills.

The Lady Royals have one match on the schedule next week at home against Webber International University.  The rivalry match will start at 7 p.m. in the Turner Athletic Center on Friday, Oct. 24.
