LAKE WALES, Fla. – Webber International University came back after a losing the first set and defeated Warner University 3-1 (25-20, 11-25, 17-25, 21-25) in Sun Conference women's volleyball action on Friday night in the Turner Athletic Center. The loss snaps a four-game conference winning streak for the Lady Royals who are now 8-10 overall and 7-3 in league play. The Warriors improve to 12-13 and 5-5 in league play.
After winning the first set 25-20, the Lady Royals never held the lead again until the fourth set. The Warriors rolled through the second set with a .556 hitting percentage and never looked back.
Adrienne Czaplewski led the Lady Royals with 11 kills on the night. Her teammate
Marisa Moralobo had 10 kills.
Heather Lockwood led all players with 27 digs on the back row.
Rachel Stanton ran the offense with 29 assists and had two kills. She also added 13 digs on the defensive front.
Next up for the Lady Royals is a road match against cross-county rivals Southeastern University next Thursday, Oct. 30. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the Sportsplex.
