Fire Hand Lady Royals Fourth Conference Loss



LAKELAND, Fla. – On Thursday night in Sun Conference women's volleyball action, Warner University lost to Southeastern University 3-1 (20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25) to drop to 8-11 on the season and 7-4 in league play.  The Fire improve to 14-9 overall and 6-5 in league play.

Tiffani Pate led the Lady Royals in the first set with three kills.  Offensively the Lady Royals managed just nine kills in the first set while the Fire recorded 17 en route to the 25-20 win.

Marisa Moralobo had five kills in the second set as the Lady Royals rallied late to tie the game at 23-23.  Back to back kills by the Fire gave them a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.

In the third set, the Lady Royals got six kills from Pate and a 6-0 run midway through the game to pull out their first victory 25-18.  It was the best offensive performance of the match for the Lady Royals as they combined for a .300 hitting percentage in the set.

The fourth set proved to be the most dramatic of the night and ended with back-to-back points for the Fire after the Lady Royals rallied to tie the game at 23-23.

Tiffani Pate led all Warner players with 12 kills in the match and a .286 hitting percentage.  Nicole Wittmer had eight kills and a team-high .386 hitting percentage against the Fire.  Marisa Moralobo was second on the team with nine kills as well.

Pate led the Royals at the net with two solo blocks and two assist blocks.  Heather Lockwood led the back row with 18 digs and both Adrienne Czaplewski and Moralobo had 13 digs.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Lady Royals travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for their final Sun Conference road game of the season against Embry-Riddle University.  The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. from the ICI Center.  Fans can follow the match live by visiting www.erauathletics.com/live
