Early Goal Leads Bobcats Past Royals 1-0


LAKE WALES, Fla. – A goal in the third minute was all St. Thomas University men's soccer team needed to pull out a victory against Warner University on Wednesday night in Sun Conference action.  The Bobcats scored with just 2:50 off the game clock then held the Royals scoreless for their seventh win of the season (7-4).  The Royals fall to 1-9-1 overall and are now 0-5 in league play.

The Bobcats outshot the Royals in the first half 11-5 but it was the Royals who outshot the Bobcats in the second half.  The Royals, however, managed just two shots on goal in 90 minutes of action.

David Bartalos made eight saves in the match including seven in the first half.

Gianluca Cuomo and Rommel Hippolyte recorded Warner's shots on goal.  Jonathan Freiria also had four shots in the game.

The Royals return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 17, for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off with Florida Memorial University.
