Lady Royals Shutout Southeastern in 3-0 Sweep

LAKE WALES, Fla. – It was a clean sweep for Warner University women's volleyball team as they cruised past Southeastern University 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 27-25) on Thursday night in front of a packed house in the Turner Athletic Center.  The win is the sixth in a row for the Lady Royals (9-4) and their fourth straight to begin Sun Conference play (4-0).  The Fire drop to 9-5 overall and 2-2 in league play following the loss.

With a packed house behind them the Lady Royals jumped out to a commanding 2-0 lead through the first two sets.  Angie Pagan-Perez and Breeanna Navarro had four kills each in the first set.  Navarro tacked on four more kills in the second set as well.

In the third set, the Fire broke a 22-22 tie with back to back points and held serve for set point 24-22.  Following a quick timeout by head coach Chrissy Moskovits, the Lady Royals pulled even with a big double block by Ivelisse Saint-Clair and Jenna Swaffer then a kill by Pagan-Perez.  After trading points the scoreboard read 25-25 but not for long as the Lady Royals scored the final two points of the match to complete the 3-0 sweep 27-25.

Breeanna Navarro led all players with 11 kills in the match.  Angie Pagan-Perez and Adrienne Czaplewski both had 10 kills.

Jenna Swaffer ran the Warner offense totaling 33 assists with three kills as well.  The Lady Royals played stellar defense against the Fire totaling 71 digs and 11 team blocks.
Thalia Mendez led the back row with 19 digs.  Cat Lind came off the bench and finished with 17 digs of her own.

Victoria Trueheart led the Fire with eight kills in the match.  Lindsey Fleming finished with 21 assists as well.

The Lady Royals travel across Crooked Lake on Saturday for their second rivalry match of the week, this time against Webber International University.  The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. in the Sabbagh Athletic Center in Babson Park, Fla.
