SAN DIEGO, Calif. – In their first-ever trip to the west coast of the United States, the Warner University football team lost to the University of San Diego on Saturday night.  The NCAA-I FCS Toreros scored touchdowns on their first five drives en route to the 45-14 victory over the Royals.  The loss drops the Royals to 2-6 on the year while San Diego improves to 5-2.

It was a high flying first half with five combined touchdowns between the two teams.  After punting on their first two possessions, the Royals scored on back to back drives to make it 21-14 with 12:11 left in the second quarter.  Darrin Davis, Jr. and Jeffrey Suarez, Jr. hooked up for both touchdowns through the air.  The first was a 76 yard throw and catch on the first play from scrimmage.  The second was a 21 yard pass capping off a five play 64 yard drive.

From there however, the Toreros scored touchdowns on back to back possessions and took a 35-14 lead into halftime.  In the second half, San Diego added their fifth touchdown of the game and a 25-yard field goal extending their lead to 45-14.

The Royals racked up 285 yard of total offense including 195 through the air.  Davis finished the game 11-of-19 for 186 yards and two touchdowns.  Suarez was on the receiving end of 157 of those yards on just four catches.

The Royals rushed for 90 yards on 28 carries as a team.  Byron Masoline led the bevy of back with 51 yards on 11 carries.

Loronza Smith led all players with 11 tackles in the game including one for a loss.  Emmanuel Bien-Aime had seven tackles while Anthony Cesar and Dylan Miyares both finished with six each.
