DORAL, Fla. – In their final tournament of the fall season, Warner University men's golf team finished tenth at the Dave Adamonis Sr. Invitational at the Trump National Doral Miami golf course. The 13-team tournament featured some of the NAIA's top programs with seven competing schools ranked in the top 25 in the latest NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Preseason Top 25 poll. The tournament also featured all 10 Sun Conference golf sponsoring institutions.
Top team honors went to No. 12 Keiser University. The Seahawks won the three-round event by 11 strokes over No. 4 Johnson & Wales University with an 870. Keiser's Charlie Stubbs was the low individual medalist with a tournament-low 213 (72-70-71).
The Royals, who are receiving votes in the preseason poll, finished the tournament with a 934 (306-301-327). Newcomer
Edvin Lindgren shot a team-best 229 (74-75-80) to lead the Royals. He finished in a tie for 35
th place in the 78 player field.
Jake Levens and
Jacob Fleck finished tied with identical scores of 237 in the three round event. Levens carded rounds of 75, 80 and 82 while Fleck shot 79, 71 and 87. Fleck's second round 71 was the lowest round by a Royal in the tournament.
Collin Johnson was three shots behind his teammates with a 240 (78-75-87) and
Ross Lally carded a 243 (84-81-78). Lally was only one of seven players in the tournament to improve their score from the second to third round.
