Hall Eclipses 1,000 Career Points as Royals Roll Falcons

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – Warren Hall scored 24 points and now has over 1,000 for his career as Warner University men's basketball team picked up a road victory over Florida College on Friday night.  Hall led a huge second half  comeback by the Royals on his way to becoming the first men's basketball player since Bryce Kachinski and Ian Wilhelm both reached the milestone back in the 2012-13 season.  The win improved the No. 25 Royals' record to 4-1 on the young season as well.

Needing just 15 points to reach 1,000 for his career, Hall went to work right and with the Royals trailing by seven late in the first half, Hall scored a bucket in the paint off an assist from Antonio Ansley to give him 16 points in the half and 1,001 for his career.  Following a free throw, Hall finished with 17 first-half points but the Royals trailed on the scoreboard 39-32 thanks to 56% shooting from the field by the Falcons.

As a team the Falcons were 6-of-11 from behind the arc in the first half and led the Royals by as many as 13 with five minutes to go before halftime.

Jamie Anderson drained a three pointer on the Royals' firs possession of the second half and the comeback was on for Warner.  The Royals scored 13 unanswered points to start the second half holding the Falcons scoreless for over seven minutes.  Malcolm Bell scored the first points of the half for the Falcons with 12:19 to go in the game.

Overall it was a 21-4 run by the Royals in the first ten minutes of the second half.  Eddie Delegal hit a jumper in the paint with 10:28 to go in the game to put Warner ahead 53-43.  After their hot shooting in the first half, the Falcons were held to just 17.2% shooting in the second half including a 0-for-6 clip from behind the arc.

The Royals on the other hand, lit up the scoreboard for 44 points and were 65.4% shooters in the second half.  AJ Lamb led the way with 10 points all in the second half.
With the offense humming the Royals completed the comeback and led by as many as 26 points in the waning seconds of the game.

Hall's big night ended with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting.  He finished with eight rebounds and five assists as well.  For his career, Hall now has scored 1,009 points in 60 games played.  For the season, the junior is averaging 18.3 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Delegal also had a big night picking up his third double-double in five games this season for the Royals.  He finished with 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.  Delegal had three blocks as well to lead all players.

The Royals keep to the road on Saturday, Nov. 14, in their first exhibition of the season against a familiar foe.  The Royals head to Daytona Beach, Fla. to face Embry-Riddle University at 7 p.m. in the ICI Center on Saturday.  The Eagles, formerly of The Sun Conference, are in their first full season as NCAA-II members competing in the Sunshine State Conference.
