LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University men's soccer team lost their first Sun Conference game of the season on Wednesday night against Keiser University, formerly Northwood University, 2-0. The loss is also the fourth in a row for the Royals who are now 0-4-1 to begin 2015. The Seahawks improve to 2-5-1 with the win.
The Seahawks got on the scoreboard first with a goal in the ninth minute off the boot of Ben Frogner. The Seahawks held a narrow 5-4 shot advantage through the first 45 minutes and carried their 1-0 lead into halftime.
The shot split was identical in the second half (5-4) and the Seahawks tacked on their second goal of the game in the 59
th minute to pull ahead 2-0. That is how the game would end in favor of the visitors.
The Royals managed two shots on frame all night;
Gianluca Cuomo and
Adrian Bartalos recorded one each. Cuomo led the Royals with three total shots in the game.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, the Royals return to the pitch for another conference showdown against Johnson & Wales University. The men's and women's doubleheader begins at 3 p.m. with the women's game. The men's game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
