Women's Soccer Comes Away With First Win Of Season

Box Score TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla.- The Royals women's soccer team traveled over to Temple Terrace to take on Florida College Monday night in hopes of coming away with their first victory of the season. After a slow start in the first half, a corner kick from Elizabeth Lewis in the 76th minute, was kicked into the back of the net by Christina Clements to give the Royals a 1-0 lead. The match would finish by the same score giving Warner its first win of the season.

Captain Elizabeth Lewis had this to say about the match, "After a slow start in the first half, we came out on the attack in the second. Our team's defensive organization in the attacking half helped us dominate possession. We are continuing to improve each game." Head Coach George Arroyo also commented, "Florida College fought hard until the final minute. They were well organized and made it difficult to find a rhythm. In the 2nd half, we came out strong and relentless. Credit to this group of women who found a way to grind out a result."

The Royals improve to 1-6 (0-3) on the season. Women's soccer will be back in action Thursday October 13 at 7 pm as they will travel down to Miami to take on St. Thomas University.
