Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The women's soccer team hosted Toccoa Falls College Eagles on Friday night in their annual Pink Out game for breast cancer awareness. The Royals and Eagles looked to play pretty even soccer in the first half but the stats would tell a different story as the Royals would dominate possession and get 12 shots off in the half. However, none of them found the back of the net so both teams entered halftime with the score 0-0.
The second half was a different story for the Royals offensively as they were able to score three times on the Eagles. The first goal came in the 62nd minute as Christina Clements was able to put a shot away off a rebound.
Kristen Wilder hit the cross bar and Clements was right there to clean it up and give the Royals a 1-0 lead.
Krystina Miles scored again in the 69th minute as she benefitted from an Eagles miscue. The Eagles attempted to clear the ball but a mis-kick gave Miles an open shot and she took it. Her goal put the Royals up 2-0 in the second half. In the 83rd minute the Royals added some security as
Tiffany Methot found Sam Warren on a cross. Warren got a clean shot off and put away the Eagles with the third goal of the match.
The Royals were led by Warren, Miles, and Clements as they each scored goals and Methot who had the lone assist.
Women's soccer will be back in action Saturday October 15 as they travel to Florida Memorial to take on the Lions. Game time is set for 3 pm.
