Royals Women's Soccer Loses In Shortened Contest

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The women's soccer team had their first home match of the season Saturday as they took on Thomas University Nighthawks in a conference match-up. Thomas struck first early as they recorded a goal in the 8th minute of the game but was held scoreless for the remainder of the half. In the second half, the Royals were able to get some offense going and get some shots on goal but were unable to put any away. The Nighthawks did manage one more goal in the 60th minute to take a 2-0 lead. With about 10 minutes remaining in the match, lightning struck and the contest was called with Thomas as the victors 2-0. The Royals fell to 0-6 (0-3) on the season. The women's team will be back in action away on Monday October 3 at 7 pm as they travel to Florida College.
