Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Royals women's soccer team took on Webber International Warriors Tuesday evening in their final contest of the season. The match was very even in the first half of play as both teams had opportunities to score but failed to do so. Both defenses play well and the goalies made some good saves throughout the half. Both teams looked to make minor adjustments as they went into halftime tied 0-0. Coming out of halftime, it was evident both teams were going to play a bit more physical as there were a total of nine yellow cards handed out in the second half. Kristen Isabelle scored on a ball sent in by
Larissa Campelo to give the Royals a 1-0 lead. The Warriors would tie the match just four minutes later in the 66th minute at 1-1. Then in the 78th minute, the Warriors once again found the back of the net to go ahead 2-1 late in the contest. The Warriors were determined to be the more physical of the two teams as they were awarded 8 of the 9 yellow cards and were awarded three yellow cards after they took the 2-1 lead. The Royals pressured the defense at the end of the match, but the Warriors were able to hold them off. The Royals finished their season with a 4-11 (2-8) 2016 record.
