Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The #9 ranked Warner Royals men's basketball team took on conference opponent, Southeastern Fire Thursday night in the Turner Athletic Center. The story of the night, however, was senior
Warren Hall as he reached 2,000 career points early on in the first half. Hall entered the game only nine points away from the milestone and with 5:49 remaining in the first half, Hall hit the mark from the free throw line. Hall is only the third player in Royals men's basketball history to reach the 2,000 career points milestone. While the nations scoring leader may have had an "off night", the rest of the Royals did not. There were five different Royals that had double digit points with three others within a bucket of getting to double digits themselves. In the first half, the Royals shot exactly 50% from the field and 54% from the three point line. Hall would lead all scorers at the break with 13 points as the Royals would take their largest lead of the half of 20 points into halftime 54-34 over the Fire.
The Royals did not let up on their opponent in the second half as they shot 60% from the field and 69% from the three point line in the half. The hot shooting by the Royals propelled them to a game high 38 point lead with 1:35 left in the game. The Royals would more than make up for the tough defense the Fire played on Hall as they would demolish Southeastern 109-79. The 109 points the Royals scored is a season high for them thus far. With the win, the Royals improve their record to 8-1 (2-1) on the season.
Warner was led by
Warren Hall who finished with a game high 22 points and chipped in 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Nick Macon went 5-5 on three pointers and finished with 19 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals.
Josh Ellis would pitch in 18 points while
Sam Schobben had 11 and
Isaac Sutton finished with 10.
The Royals will next travel down to Ave Maria to take on the Gyrenes Saturday, December 3 at 4 pm.
