Chelsie Valentine, in the first game of a scheduled double header, versus the Chestnut Hill College Griffins, the Royals added another tally to the win column with a 3-2 victory. Valentine went all the way, and then some, giving up only 5 hits and striking out 9 Griffins in 8 strong innings.
On the opposing side, the Griffins battled the Royals to the end. Freshman catcherÂ
Brielle Riotte (Elizabeth, N.J.) recorded two hits while junior pinch runnerÂ
Ashleigh Sharp (Dresher, Pa.) and freshman left fielderÂ
Ariel Magee (North Cape May, N.J.) accounted for the Griffins' only two runs of the contest. Â
With the game tied up in extra innings, Valentine stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the eighth with Ficarrotta, whom went 1-2, with a walk and 2 runs scored, in scoring position. After a hard fought at-bat, Valentine got her pitch and drove it just fair down the left-field line scoring the game winning run.
Gm. 2Coach Clemente shook things up in game two by making some changes in the line- up that proved to be the key to the Royals 10-3 victory, their second of the day. Freshman
Sydney Coleman started the game behind the plate, batting in the four hole where she went 2-2 with a triple and two runs. Joining Coleman with triples of their own were fellow freshmen

The Lady Royals are back in action this upcoming Thursday as they host Davenport University in a double header scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at Daly Field.Â
