Box Score AVE MARIA, Fla.- The women's soccer team travelled down to Ave Maria to take on the Gyrenes in a non conference match Thursday. Despite the impending weather due to Hurricane Hermine, the match was able to be played. The Royals saw themselves down very early with the Gyrenes scoring a goal in the sixth minute. However, in the 22nd minute of the match, the Royals responded with a goal by Larissa Campelo. Ashley Cole was awarded the assist on Campelo's goal. 

Not to be outdone, the Gyrenes came right back and scored again in the 28th minute to take the lead right back, 2-1. The Royals would get some shots and opportunitues, but failed to capatalize upon them. The Gyrenes would add another goal in the 50th minute to go up 3-1. 

The match would end with the Royals falling to the Gyrenes 3-1. The Royals finished with 14 shots and 8 on goal. Elizabeth Lewis led most of the Royals attack with 5 shots and 3 on goal but was unable to find the back of the net.

The Royals will be back in action Saturday September 3 as they travel to Florida College. Game time is set for 7 pm.
