Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Royals volleyball team hosted cross county and conference rival Southeastern Fire Wednesday night at the Turner Athletic Center. When fans arrived at 7 pm, they did not know they were in store for a great volleyball match that would go five sets and see the Royals be the victors in the end. In set one, the Royals seemed to have a tough time really getting going against the Fire as they never really took control of the set and the Fire were able to come away with an opening set 21-25 victory.
The Royals would respond in set two as the offense clicked and they dominated both sides of the net. The Fire seemed to be in trouble as the Royals came out with a spark and would ultimately take set two 25-15 in convincing fashion. Much like the Keiser match, the Royals would go into the locker room for the eight minute break between sets and come back out a different team in set three. The Fire took full advantage of this as the Royals once again never got anything going and would drop the third set 22- 25 to the Fire.
With a 2-1 lead in the match, the Royals had their backs against the wall and would respond greatly. The Royals came out and once again dominated the match to win set four convincingly 25-18 and force a deciding fifth set.
The fifth set is a winner take all set and it comes down to who is better. Much like the Georgetown match, the Royals would come out in set five and take any hopes of winning away from the Fire. In one of the more dominating sets of the year, the Royals took down the Fire 15-8 and win the match 3-2.
